Dr. Douglas McKay, DPM, DACFAS

Dr. Douglas McKay is a well-respected podiatrist providing comprehensive foot and ankle care with offices in Caldwell and Galloway, New Jersey. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. McKay treats a wide range of podiatric conditions while emphasizing conservative treatment methods before surgical intervention.
Education & Training
Dr. McKay grew up in Livingston, New Jersey and graduated from Livingston High School in 1988.
He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
Following a year of research at Newark Beth Israel Hospital in the Thoracic Surgery Department, Dr. McKay earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM) in 1997.
He completed both podiatric surgical and podiatric medical residencies at:
- Staten Island University Hospital
- Metropolitan Hospital Center, New York City
from 1997 through 1999.

Clinical Experience & Leadership
Dr. McKay utilizes modern technologies to diagnose and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions and has extensive experience in lower extremity wound care.
He previously served as Medical Director of the Passaic Beth Israel Wound Center, where he became the first podiatrist in New Jersey to incorporate Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy in the treatment of diabetic foot wounds.
His approach focuses on helping patients achieve recovery while exploring conservative treatment options whenever appropriate.
Treatment Philosophy
Dr. McKay believes in beginning treatment with minimally invasive and conservative care whenever possible. Surgical treatment is recommended only when non-surgical options cannot adequately resolve the condition.

Dr. Albert Wacha, DPM
Dr. Albert Wacha was born, raised, and educated in the Teaneck N.J. School system. He is married to Erin Reilly Wacha and a very proud father of five. He enjoys golf, reading, and watching his grandchildren play sports.
He attended Fairleigh Dickinson Univ., earning a B.S in Biology in 1975 before attending the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, earning his Podiatric medical degree in 1979.
Afterward, attending St. Mary's Hospital in Philadelphia for his podiatric residency.
Dr. Abram Simon. In 1995 Dr. Wacha achieved Board Certification in Podiatric Medicine and has maintained certification since.
Now having practiced Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for over 45 years.
